Foreign relations are an im-
portant part in the lives of many
politically-minded Mumfordites,
and parents will have the chance
to determine the extent of this
interest when the Parents' Club
presents American Field Service
Night, 8:15 Tuesday, in the
school auditorium.
American Field Service is the
official State Department ex-
change program which sponsors
students both here and abroad
in an attempt to promote better
international feeling. Represent-
ing Mumford's chapter of AFS
will be Norma Vera and Bev
Wood, exchange students from
Argentina and Australia, respec-
tively. Rita Reisig, an American
returnee from Chile, also will
speak, and movies of the Hope
Ship will be shown by Dr. Her-
bert Bloom.
Seniors' elections were com-
pleted two weeks ago, with David
Hirt emerging as victor in the
race for president. Art Rolnick
gained the vice-presidency. Judy
Mosbach is secretary, and Richard
Grant treasurer.
The seniors are now anxiously
awaiting such activities as the
trip to Washington, May 24-28,
the Sadie Hawkins Dance, Va-
riety Show, and finally com-
mencement, June 20.
Allan Goldman and Mickey
Eisenberg were recently chosen
finalists by AFS and are await-
ing possible placement in a home
overseas.
Northern dropped to Mum-
ford's basketball team, 58-34,
last Friday in the opening game
of state tourney play for both
teams. All-City honors in swim-
ming went to free-styler Dick
Golden and the free-style relay
team of Larry Beresh, Bob Moss,
Larry Mirvis and Allen Jones.

National Secretary

A celebration to honor Louis
Segal, national secretary of Far-
band 120 and member of the
World Zionist Executive, will
take place 8:30 p.m. Monday,
at the Hayim Greenberg Center.
Segal has just returned from a
visit to Israel, where he attended
the plannery sessions of the
World Zionist Executive, and
will bring an atensive report.
