Central Class of '27 Will Honor

that Calvin was "one of the best
,tudents in the class" who "got
all A's." was "a little chubby,
very congenial and well-liked."
Calvin went on to get his
bachelor's degree at the Michi-
gan College of Mines in Hough-
ton and from there to the Uni-
versity of Wisconsin for grad-
uate work.
Knowledge of Calvin's activi-
ties following his student career
through high school in Detroit
are sketchy at best. Those who
lay claim to being "old fellows"
of his will have an opportunity
at the reunion for closer scru-
tiny of one 0: their number who
Fresh Air Society
Inaugurates Program
for Handicapped Kids
The Fresh Air Society (Camp
Tamarack ) is developing a new
campin2, program for handicapped
children.
A limited number of handi-
capped campers will be inte-
grated into the on going program.
Additional trained staff have
been engaged to aid the handi-
capped camper in working along-
side his bunk mates.
They will participate in as
-many of the regular activities
as they can, including canoeing,
swimming. hiking. camperaft and
nature projects. cookouts, over-
nights. campfires. ball games,
dramatics, camp songs and Jew-
ish Sabbath programs.

The Fresh Air Society is also
sponsoring a series of training
programs for high school gradu-
ates who are interested in being
counselors once they are in col-
lege. This is geared to those boys
and girls who were hired as
counselor preps for the 1962
camping season. It is hoped that
-
attend with their spouses . . .
plus the surviving teachers of
the day.
Speakers and a "special pres-
entation" will be part of the fes-
tivities in tribute to Calvin.
