For the first time, Detroit
will be hest to youthful Bible
Contest winners from six mid-
west cities. The children, all
winners in their local district
competitions, will be here under
the auspices of the National
Bible Contest to compete in
the midwest regional semi-
finals.
Albert Elazar, superintend-
ent of the United Hebrew
Schools, was voted chairman of
the midwest region, in addition
to his previously announced ap-
pointment as chairman of the
Detroit district committee.
On March 25, two winners
from each of the six midwest
districts will compete in He-
brew oral and written tests in
the Kasle High School branch
of the United Hebrew Schools.

a.m. Previously Delta had oper-
ated this flight only five nights
per week.

The grand prize is a trip to

The National Bible Contest,
now in its third year, is spon-
sored by the Department of
Education and Culture of the
American Zionist Council and
the Israel Bible Society. Its
purpose is to create interest in
Bible study and bring recogni-
tion to those students who ex-
cel in knowledge of the Bible's
English or Hebrew forms.
Children aged 12 to 15 are
eligible to compete in junior
and senior divisions. Those in-
terested in entering the con-
test may contact the United
Hebrew School for further in-
formation.

The Detroit Social Club of
Greater Miami will hold its an-
nual Purim party on March 22
at the Aligers Hotel in Miami
Beach. Installation of officers
will also be held. Installing of-
ficer will be Isaac Finkelstein.
New officers will be Maurice
Friedman, president; Phil Roth-
bart, vice president; Abe Ler-
ner, treasurer, and Irvin Sirkin
and Gladys Morgenstern, secre-
taries.
