Brazilian Jews Seek
Ban on New Edition
of Hitler's 'Mein Kampf

'

SAO PAULO, Brazil, (JTA)—
The Confederation of Brazilian
Jewish Organizations is pushing
efforts to obtain a government
ban on the sale of a new locally-
published edition of Hitler's
"Mein. Kampf."
The Confederation first checked
with the West German embassy
to determine whether the local
publisher, Mestre Jou, had vio-
lated copyright procedures in
issuing the new edition. Then a
delegation of the Confederation,
together with a Brazilian war vet-
erans group, met with Minister
of Justice Alfredo Nasser and
asked for a ban on the book. The
Minister promised prompt and
favorable action.
