Bee Kalt of the Bee Kalt Travel Service, 296 N. Hunter,
Birmingham, has just returned from New York, where she was
invited as one of a select group of travel agents to be the guest of
the French Line aboard the S. S. France for its official United
States launching.
Mr. and Mrs. I. Weisberg of Tel Aviv, Israel, were recently
honored at a farewell party at the home of Mrs. L. Herman of
Roslyn Rd. Co-hostesses for the luncheon for 75 friends were
Mesdames M. Berk, M. Goldberg, S. Gottlieb, L. Heiman and
M. Stein. The Weisbergs have been visiting relatives in New
York, Alexandria, Va., and Detroit. While here, they have been
staying with their sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. J.
Spielberg of W. Outer Dr., and brother, Jacob Granadier.
A dinner was held Jan. 28 at the Deauville Hotel in Miami
Beach, Fla., in honor of Edward Beresh on the occasion of his
Bar Mitzvah. He is the son of former Detroiters Mr. and Mrs.
Milton Beresh of North Miami Beach.
President Mrs. Hillel L. Abrams, Mrs. Henry S. Baum, Mrs.
Solomon N. Cohen and Mrs. A. M. Silverstein represented the
Yeshivath Beth Yehudah P.T.A. at the National Association of
Hebrew Day Schools P.T.A. convention held last week in Rock-
away, N.Y.
Rabbi and Mrs. I. Lawton announce that they will leave next
week to make their home in Woodlawn Hills, Calif. They will be
at home, at 12828 Santa Clara, to their numerous friends, all
day Sunday, prior to their departure.
Sherril Cohen, 18919 Cherrylawn, has been named to the
Dean's List for scholastic achievement at Yeshiva University's
Stern College for Women, New York.
Benjamin Unger, cantor of the Beth Ha Kennseth Hagadol in
Tel Aviv, will visit in Detroit this weekend at the home of
Cantor Shabtai Ackerman.
Mr. and Mrs. Joe Magidsohn, 13405 Kenwood, Oak Park, were
honored on their 50th wedding anniversary by their daughter,
Mrs. Dorothy Becker, and son, Dr. Eliot A. Magidsohn, at a
party at the home of the latter, 18905 Snowden.
Temple Avanu-El is giving a testimonial champagne dinner-
dance '7 p.m. Saturday for Dr. and Mrs. Barnard L. Lieberman
as tribute to their devotion and service to the congregation.
