He is teaching in Port Huron, where he now makes his •home. Mr. and Mrs. Max Prog sailed from New York on a six-week Mediterranean cruise to Europe and Israel on the S.S. Mauretania. Former Detroiters Alan and Edith Kopelson, actress-producer, received notice recently with a three-column feature story on Mrs. Kopelson's career, which appeared in a California newspaper. The Kopelson's live in Palm Springs, Calif., where she is teaching drama at a local studio. When living in Detroit, Edith Kopelson was heard on WWJ and WJR, was active in the Woodward Players and staged plays for Temple Beth El. Alan Kopelibn was on the faculty of the Detroit Institute of Musical Art • and served on the board of the Bohemians' Club. Mrs. Lea Aronson, 20221 Prevost, recently met Genevieve, star of "From Paris With Love," currently playing here, at a champagne breakfast in. honor of the chanteuse at the Sheraton- Cadillac Hotel. The introduction was arranged as a result of Mrs. Aronson being named a winner in the Free Press Learn- A-Language contest. • • Mr. and Mrs. •Morris -Meskin •of Pinehurst Ave., entertained Mr. and Mrs. Charles Ginsburg of Oak Park at a surprise dinner party Jan. 28 in honor of •their 36th wedding anniversary. Among the guests were Mr. and Mrs. Max Shapiro of Basil Ave. who are leaving for Phoenix, Ariz., and the west coast for an extended stay. Cantor and Mrs. Isaac Katz have returned from a four-month trip to Israel, France and Italy. While in Israel. Cantor Katz conducted services in many of the large cities of the country. Flock was tendered a surprise party by the office staff and teachers of both the Hebrew and English de- partments of the Hillel Day School upon her resignation as principal. Irwin I. Cohn and William Fisher will be co-hosts at a re- ception to Detroiters at the Fontainbleau Hotel, Miami Beach, next Thursday afternon, in behalf of the Jewish Theological Seminary of America. Rabbi Max Arzt will be the guest speaker. The Kaplan Family Club will meet 8:30 p.m. Feb. 18 at the home of Leona and Sid Chafetz.
