Smallpox Vaccinations Urged by Dr. Molner Dr. Joseph G. Molner, city- county health commissioner, has sounded a note of urgent concern regarding a possible outbreak of smallpox in Detroit and the met- ropolitan area. He noted that outbreaks of smallpox have been reported in Pakistan, Great Britain and West Germany. Pakistan has had 258 deaths, Great Britain six, and at least one has been reported in West Germany. Molner stated that with mod- ern, rapid methods of transporta- tion, it would appear that small- pox could be imported into this section of the country. Molner suggested that all adults who have not been vacci- nated against smallpox in the past five years, do so as soon as possible to alleviate the possibil- ity of catching or spreading the disease. Grinnell Gallery Features Exhibit Anita Davis Will of 22 Paintings by Reva Shwayder Wed Robert Novak Mrs. Benjamin Shwayder, pro- fessionally known as Reva Shwayder, will have her second "one-man" show with a preview and reception at the Grinnell Gallery, 1515 Woodward, Mon- day from 3 to 8 p.m. The show will continue for several weeks, announces Lester B. Arwin, di- rector of the gallery. The success of her first show in October, 1959, when Mrs. Shwayder established the unpre- cedented record of selling all her paintings, consisting of oils, water colors and caseins the opening day of the show, was the partial incentive for her second show, in addition to re- views she received by the critics, which established her as a tal- ented and recognized artist. Her present art show which will exhibit approximately 22 oil paintings, has taken more than two years of preparation. Mrs. Shwayder, who lives at 27551 Fairway Hills, Franklin, started her are career in 1949, with Sarkis Sarkisian director of the Society of Arts and Crafts. Travel Agents May Now Accept Israel Bonds from :.Clients Travel agents may now accept State of Israel bonds from their clients in payment for land ar- rangements while in Israel. The program, applicable only to individual travelers and their families, and not organized groups, is the result of efforts by the Israel Government Tour- ist Corporation in cooperation with the Bank Leumi L'Israel. The new plan permits travel agents in this country to take advantage of a service which heretofore had been 'available only to bondholders while in Is- rael. Previously bonds could be exchanged by.the owner, but only while in Israel. It is estimated that 20 to 25 percent of tourist * earnings were derived from the 'IRVING I.
