Mrs. Roosevelt Is Hostess in New
Histadrut Film, 'Golden Harvest'

Mrs. Eleanor Roosevelt is ap-
pearing as hostess 'on the new
Histadrut film, "Golden Harvest,"
which recently had its premiere
showing at the annual conven-
tion of the National Committee
for Labor Israel in New York.
The film is a tribute to the
"twin jubilees" of the kibbutz
movement and Kupat Holim.
Mrs. Roosevelt, a personal
friend of Joseph Baratz, a found-
er of the first kibbuts, Degania,
volunteered to introduce the
story and comment on the uni-
versal significance of both social
phenomena which . Histadrut has
developed into major features
of Israel.
The first part of the film, shot
in Degania during its golden
jubilee celebrations earlier this
year, opens with a "family
album" showing the early days
at Urn Juni on the banks of the
Jordan river, and brings us up

The ninth annual Border-City
Conference on "Rearing Children
of Good Will" will be held Feb.
16 at the Rackham Building, 60
Farnsworth.
The day-long conference con-
cerns itself with "How to raise a
socially adjusted child free from
the crippling effects of pre-
judice."
It is a project of the Detroit
Round Table of the National
Conference of Christians and
Jews in cooperation with 47
metropolitan Detroit and Wind-
sor area parent and community
organizations.
Among the groups are the
American Jewish Congress,
League of Jewish Women's Or-
ganizations of Metropolitan Det-
roit, National Council of Jewish
Women and the Metropolitan
Detroit Bnai Brith Women's and
Men's Councils.

from the groups serving on the
planning committee for the con-
ference are Mrs. Philip Rader,
Mrs. Irving H. Small, Dr. Hulda
Fine, Mrs. Philip Fealk, Mrs.
Oscar Hertz, Dr. Irwin Groner,

Mrs. J. Stewart Linden, Mrs.

Resumes Sabbath
Program on Deman
TUCSON (HA)—The Jewish
Center of Tucson has resumed
Saturday afternoon programming
for children between the ages
of six and 13 because of popular
demand.
The program includes club
work, drama and gymnasium ac-
tivities. The program also offers
beginning and advanced Hebrew
and Spanish classes. Each week
different groups will be taken
by bus on tours of interesting
places.

Lists Coming Events,
School Registration
Registration is now open for
the new semester at the Sholem
Aleichem School. The curri-
culum consists of Yiddish, He-
brew, Jewish history, holidays
and festivals and other ele-
ments of Jewish culture.
At an Oneg Shabbat of Chap-
ter One,, 9 p.m. today, Moishe
Haar, director of the Sholem
Aleichem Institute, will- - tleliver
a lecture, "The Dybbuk—after
40 years on the world stage."
In honor of Jewish Music
Month,.: the Sholem Aleichem
Institute will sponsor a concert
OT Jewish music featuring the
Sholem Aleichem Chorus and
the Toledo Folk Chorus. The
concert will include a selection
of piano solos by. Rose Mash
and vocal numbers by Sylvia
Heideman and Leo Mogill.
