Canadian Church Bans
Legacy for Home for
`Gentile Ladies' Only
MONTREAL, (JTA) — A _be-
quest involving a house donated
in a will to the Anglican Church
was rejected here by the Church
Wardens because the legacy

provided that the house must
be used only as "a home for
Gentile ladies."
The wardens ruled that such
a provision is "discriminatory
and contrary to public policy"
as well as a violation of the
Fair Accommodations Practices
Act of the Province of Ontario.
The house is located at
Bowmanville, Ont.
