Israel Ministry- of Health Denies Yetta Yates Honored by Bnai Brith Gail Laskey Wed Gary Marcus Request to Test Oral Contraceptive Blood Program; Rally Call Issued For her many years of faith- ful service to the Blood Pro- gram, the Detroit Women's Council of Bnai Brith honored Mrs. Stanley Yates as its most outstanding Blood Program vol- unteer by presenting her with a Blood Bank Trophy. This trophy, which bears her name, will be awarded annually to the chapter which has most effectively advanced the pur- poses of the Bnai Brith Blood Bank Program. Mrs. Yates is a past president of th e Louis Marshall Chapter, and had served as chairman of Bnai Brith volunteer Red Cross recruits for • ten consecutive years until last summer. _ American Jewish Congress Women Plan Amity Lunch Bnai Brith recruits not only serve Bnai Brith rallies but al- so staff Mobile Units at least once a week for the American Red Cross. They act as regis- trars, donor-room workers and observers and assist the profes- sional staff of doctors- and -nurses. - Yetta Yates has...been a volun- teer and leader since the incep- tion of the program. To maintain a constant supply of blood, Bnai Brith conducts rallies every other month. The current rally will be held 6 to 11 p.m. Monday at the Pepper School in Oak Park and 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. Tuesday at the Adas Shalom Synagogue; under the joint sponsorship of the men's and women's councils. In addi- tion to prizes offered by the Bnai Brith Bowling Association at the rallies, two trips for two aboard the S.S. Aquarama will be presented. Forty pints of blood, which amounted to 10 per cent of the total donated at the last rally, was given to the Children's Lu- kemia Foundation, according to Blood Bank chairmen Julius Berkowitz and Sylvia Weitz- man.
