Gurion of Israel predicts that in
25 years the United States may
become "a welfare state with a
planned economy," in an article
in the current issue of Look
Magazine in which the magazine
marked its 25th year of publica-
tion and presented the forecasts
of leading world figures about
the next quarter of a century.
According to Ben-Gurion, this
development in the United States
will be accompanied by a "grad-
ual .democratization of the Soviet
Union" as a result of "internal
pressure of the constantly grow-
ing intelligensia in Russia for
more freedom and the pressure
of the masses for raising their
living standards.".
This will lead, Ben Gurion
said, to a world in 198'7 in which
"all armies will be abolished, and
there will be no more wars."
The 75-year-old Prime Minis-
ter prophesied that the United
Nations ("a truly United Na-
tions") will build a "Shrine of
the Prophets" in Jerusalem which
will be the seat of the "Supreme
Court of Mankind."
