standing participation in the Bar
Mitzvah Year Israel Bond cam-
paign, either through purchases,
sales or collections.

The first annual Detroit Jew-
ish Center Invitational Basket-
ball Tournament will be held on
Dec. 27, 28 and 31 in the Max
Fisher gymnasium of the. Cen-
ter, 18100 Meyers.
Eight teams will compete for
first place in a single elimiha-
tion tournament. There will be
four gines Wednesday at 6:30,
7:30, _8:30 - and 9:30 p.m. On
Thursday, the four winners will
play, and on the 31st, the con-
solation games will be held at
noon and the finals at 1 p.m.
The teams will be made up
of boys from the ages of 14-17
years who do not play on a high
school varsityjunior varsity, or
reserve team. The teams .com-
peting are from Toledo Jewish
Center, Highland Park Boys
Club, Franklin Settlement, Fern-
dale Recreation, Woodlawn
Church of God, and two teams
from Livonia Recreation.
A first place, second place,
and consolation trophy will be
awarded, plus a Most Valuable
Player trophy and individual
trophies to the winning team
members. The final game will
be followed by the presentation
of awards and a reception for
players, coaches and friends.
There is no admission charge.
