Rabbi Lehrman to Give
Series of Lectures on
`Comparative Religion'
Detroit Seminary Patrons Group
Dr. David Blum, director of
the Bnai Moshe Schobl of Adult
Study, announces that Rabbi
Moses Lehrman will deliver a
series of eight 1 e c t u r es on
"Comparative Religion, starting
9 p.m. Tuesday, and continuing
for the following Tuesday eve-
nings.
Rabbi Lehrman will present
an analytical study of Judaism,
Christianity and Mohammedism.
An attempt will be made to
compare the concepts of atti-
tudes toward other faiths,
church and synagogue member-
ship, salvation, The Bible,
prayer, sin, heaven and hell,
messianism, marriage, divorce,
family planning, individual and
social responsibility, as well as
other basic doctrines and issues.
All lectures will be given at
the . Bnai Moshe Synagogue in
Oak Park. The public is invited.

Announce National Bible Contest
The launching of the third
annual National Bible Contest for
American Jewish youth attend-
ing Jewish schools, to be held in
the Spring of 1962, was announc-
ed by Dr. Samuel M. Blumen-
field, director of the department
of education and culture of the
American Zionist Council, 515

Jointly sponsored with the
Bible Society of Israel, the con-
test, the third consecutive event
of its kind, is aimed at promot-
ing a greater interest in the Bible
among students in Jewish schools
in the United States and Canada
with a view to encouraging more
extensive reading of the Bible
either in English or in the orig-
inal, and to strengthen the place
of Bible studies in the curricula
of Jewish schools.

Frank Amber Seeks Hebrew Books
for Beth Abraham Library -Section

Anxious to encourage in-
ereased Hebrew studies among
adults as well as the youth,
Frank Amber has undertaken
the task of increasing the avail-
able books at the Beth Abraham
synagogue on 7-Mile and Green-
lawn.
Pointing out that -there al-
ready are available in the Beth
Abraham library a number of
books for youngsters, in Eng-
lish, Amber has expressed the
hope that a large Hebrew sec-
tion will be developed.
Under his direction, a special
library room has been 'set - up
and the collection of books is
'proceeding.
- Amber especially appeals for
Hebrew classics, books pub-
lished in Israel, Hebrew periodi-
cals, etc.
He states that he will person-

"Focus on Youth" will be the
theme of a special Sabbath
service tomorrow night at Cong.
Bnai Moshe, the final in a series
of events commemorating the
congregation's golden anniver-
sary, announced Norbert Rein,
