24 THE DETROIT JEWI SH NEWS -- Friday, December, 8, 1961 — Four Plays Announced For Stratford in '62 Four plays—three of them by Shakespeare—have been set for the 10th season of the Stratford, Ontario, Shakespearean Festival which will open June 18. Michael Langham, the festi- val's artistic director, announced that "Macbeth," "The Tempest," and "The Taming of the Shrew" have been chosen to open- oil consecutive evenings, June 18, 19 and 20. Edmond Rostand's "Cyrano de Bergerac" will join the repertoire on July 30 for the balance of the season. The company will- be headed by Christopher Plummer who appeared at the festival in 1960. The 1962 season will extend for 15 weeks—the longest yet undertaken, one week more than in 1961. The Festival will also include an expanded music season, again under the directorship of Glenn Gould, Leonard Rose and Oscar -Shumsky.
