It is not only because it has
recipes for Blintzes and Krep-
lach that "Amy Vanderbilt's
Complete Cookbook," just pub-
lished by Doubleday, has such
great merit. .
Because it is all-inclusive,
because in its more than 800
pages are contained suggestions
for preparation of dairy as well
as meat foods, fruit and other
concoctions, that Miss Vander-
bilt's work is so valuable.
One of the most successful
ethiquette authorities, whose
columns appear in newspapers
throughout the country, Miss
Vanderbilt now also emerges as
an expert in the kitchen.
Many favorites will be found
in this cookbook, and the house-
wife now is masterfully guided
in many directions by the Amy
Vanderbilt book.
In addition to the recipes
and the menus, her book con-
tains hints on the quick and
easy way of cooking, cookery
terms, advice on h an d l i n g
knives and on carving, sugges-
tions on where to secure foreign
foods and a guide to herbs,
seeds and spices.
