Cairo provides for shipments to
Egypt of U.S. goods including

for in Egyptian currency un-
der long-term credits arrange-

According to reports from
Cairo, the Egyptian economy is

provide an .additional 100,000
tons of corn as a gift.
More than 300 young men and women from communities
throughout the country recently participated in the United Jewish
Appeal's Second Annual National -Young Leadership Conference
in New York City where they discussed various problems affecting
Jews overseas. The delegates also voted to organize a Second
Young Leadership Mission to Europe and Israel next Slimmer.

Executive Vice-Chairman, who headed the Mission last Spring;
Joseph Meyerhoff, UJA General Chairman, who convened the
Conference; James H. Nobil of Akron, Ohio, who reported on the

Dr. Maurice Jacobs of Phila-
delphia, chairman of the Bnai
Brith Vocational Service, re-
ported an "unprecendented
dethand" for social workers in
the 'American Jewish commu-
nity. He said that "the short-
. age of trained manpower in
this field has created a situa-
tion where many important
jobs are impossible to•fill."
A survey by the Bnai Brith
Youth Organization reported by
its chairman, David Blumberg
of Knoxville, Tenn., showed that
"JeWish youngsters are opposed
to any subterfuge or masking of
Jewish identity to restricted
housing or other facilities."
The study, compiled from the
views of 150 BBYO leaders,
showed that Jewish youngsters
also reject the notion that
"Jews should not go where they
are not wanted." Their consen-
sus was that "when a Jew en-
counters discrimination, he
should protest vigorously and
take steps to remedy the situa-
tion."

JERUSALEM, (JTA) — The
Jewish Agency's -e x e c u t i v e

remaining 300 members of the
Cochin Jewish community in
India.
Three thousand Cochin Jews
who were brought to Israel pre-
viously, were found, according
to a report to the Agency exe-
cutive, to have been absorbed
successfully in various spheres
of Israeli life, including agri-
culture, development areas and
urban centers.
His Excellency M. Armand
Berard, Ambassador Extraor-
dinary and Plenipotentiary of
France and its permanent
repersentative to the
Nations, will be a gue
at the dinner.
Every delay, however trifling,
seems too long to a man in haste.
