JACOB E. GOLDMAN chairman; Harry Cohen, David Goldberg, Daniel Laven and Isa- dore Muskovitz, co-chairmen. Assisting them are these addi- tional trustees of Bar-Ilan Uni- versity: David I. He had Harold Norris, of 17393 Pine- hurst, a delegate to the Con- stitutional Convention, pointed out this week that organizations interested in civil rights and church-state matters are invited to present their views to the convention committees. Norris, a vice-chairman of the Con-Con committee on declara- tion of rights, suffrage and elec- tions, made known the follow- ing statement issued by Ste- phen S. Nisbet, Con-Con presi- dent: "The general public has ev- ery right to be heard at the Constitutional Convention. Com- mittees of the convention wel- come appearances by individ- uals and organizations, or com- munications from such groups, who have recommendations con- cerning the revised document." Nisbet's statement was is- sued in response to a request from Delegate Norris, who is a professor at the Detroit College of Law. Norris, speaking in a general session of the convention, told the delegates he thought it was important that the public be apprised of how and when they could become part of the delib- erative process of the conven- tion. Nisbet said that persons or organizations requesting ap- pearances before one or more of the convention's nine sub- stantive committees would be accommodated between Dec, 1 and Dec. 15, which would con- form to the general convention schedule.
