at Beth El on Dec. 1

will speak on "The Lonely Path
to Peace."

serving Jewish
chaplains in

of the U. S.
armed forces.
Born in
Jerusalem,
- Rabbi Lev re-,
ceived his
Rabbi Lev
D.S. from Columbia University
and was ordained by Hebrew
Union College-Jewish Institute
of Religion. He received an
honorary D.D. in 1954. He has
just returned from a mission
for the Air Force in Europe
where he conducted Torah con-
vocations for chaplains in Ger-
many, France, England, Spain
and Turkey.

Bnai David Will Burn Mortgage
at Congregational Dinner-Party

The annual Bnai David congre-
gational dinner party will be
held Sunday at the Synagogue.
The party. will be a double
celebration honoring the instal-
lation of officers and the retiring
of a short - term bank note which
leaVes the new synagogue build-
; ing free of debt. . The mortgage-
burning will signal - the proced-
ure of plans to build a main
sanctuary and classroom wing.
Melville J. Riclunan will be in-
stalled as president, Jack Lieber-
man, Jack Kraizman and Sam
Belkin, vice presidents; Jerome
J. Trumper, treasurer; and Neil
Kalef, secretary.
The following will be installed
as members of the board of

Chabad Dinner to Host
Professor Irving Bloch

Dr. Irving Bloch will be guest
speaker at the fourth annual
Chabad dinner, 6 p.m. Sunday at
the Northwest Young Israel,
17376 Wyoming.
Bloch is a philosophy profes-
sor at the University of Western
Ontario. He studied at the Cen-
tral Lubavitcher Yeshiva in
Brooklyn, N.Y. He also holds a
bachelor degree' from Vanderbilt
University and a doctorate from
Harvard University.
Charles E. Feinberg will give
a report on Camp Gan Israel of
the Mid-West.
Planning the dinner are Isa-
dore Starr, chairman; Jacob
Field, Abraham Gardin and
George Zalman, co - chairmen;
Ernest Citrin, treasurer; Lazar
Hammes, secretary; Isaac Silver,
ticket chairman; Isadore Sosnik,
chairman of the Landsmanshaf-
ten.
On the general committee are
J. Baiter, Harry Eskin, Jack Gins-
burg, Ernest Greenfield, Eugene
Greenfield, ,Sandor Greenfield,
Herman M. Halon, Joseph Hend-
ler, Hyman Kaber and A. Yam-
