Many-Faceted Bond Event

The current Israel Bond Drive, as a result of which
the Detroit Israel Bond Organization hopes to reach a
new high in the sale of Israel Bonds in Detroit, deserves
the support and the interest of our entire oommunit
Not only will the event tomorrow night be util .
to honor the 75th birthday of Israel's Prime M
David Ben-Gurion: it also will welcome two distin
guests, Mayor Robert Briscoe of Dublin and UJ
Morris W. Berinstein.
The important factor in this many-face
however, is the cause itself. Private investmen
topped by Israel Bond efforts, are vital to
economy. This economy must be strengthened t
means of livelihood to the newcomers in Israel.
A strong economy also will mean a strong defense.
The young nation needs encouragement. It needs the
assurance that Israel's kinsmen everywhere will stand
behind the builders of the new State who must have
the friendship of Jews everywhere.
Every effort must be made to assure the success of
the current as well as the future Israel Bond efforts.
At this time, we join with all Bond leaders and
workers, and the entire community, in greeting David
Ben-Gurion on his 75th birthday, through tomorrow
night's s i g n i f i c ant event, and to welcome the
distinguished guests to our city.
