Jacob K. Goldbloom, 89

LONDON, (JTA) — Jacob
Koppul _G oldbloo m, veteran
Zionist and leader of British
Jewry, died here Nov. 9 at 89.
He was honorary vice president
of the • British Zionist Federa-
tion and a member of the
Zionist Actions CoMmittee.
Born in Kletzk, Russia, he
came to England in 1893 where
he headed Jewish schools. He
participated in every Zionist
Congress since 1901, and col-
laborated with Dr. Theodor
Herzl and Chaim Weizmann.

THE HAGUE, (JTA) — Dr.
Hans Max Hirschfeld, former
Dutch High Commissioner for
Indonesia and a high economic
official in the Dutch govern-
ment, died here NOV. 9 at 82.
During the early part : of
World War II, Hirschfeld was
secretary-general of the Minis-
tries of Commerce and Indus-
try and Agriculture.
