The Detroit Council of the
Labor Zionist Organization of
America (Poale Zion) invites the
community to attend a recep-
tion for Meir Argov, member
of Israel's Knesset (parliament).
Argov has been a member of
the Krresset since its establish-
ment. He is chairman of Is-
rael's Committee on Foreign
Affairs and Security.
Born in Rus-
sia, Argov was

He has served

ities in the

rael and was

signers of its

Gerald Goldberg is chairman
of the cultural and program-
ming committee. Morris Lieber-
man, chairman of the Zionist

greetings. Mrs. Herbert Pincus
will lead in the singing of the
"Star Spangled Banner" and
"Hatikva," accompanied by Mrs.
Walter Klein.
Arrangements for the, recep-
tion are being made by Eman-
uel Mark, director of the Labor
Zionist Organization of Detroit.
The welcoming committee for
Argov is headed by Mrs. Nor-
man Leemon, president of the
Pioneer Women's C o u n c i 1;
Harry Schumer, president of
the Farband City Committee;
and Sidney Shevitz, Irving Po-
kempner and Benjamin Laikin.
