Rabbi Samuel Sandmel of Cin-
cinnati will lecture on "The Im-
pact of The Rabbinic Tradition"
8:30 p.m. Monday at Temple
Beth El.
This will be the concluding lec-
ture in a series of four on "A
New Look at Our Jewish Heri-
tage."
Provost of the Hebrew Union
College-Jewish Institute of Reli-
gion and Professor of Bible and
Hellenistic Literature at its Cin-
cinnati School, Dr. Sandmel is
one of the leading authorities on
the New Testament and its rela-
tionship to Judaism. He served
as Hillel Professor of Jewish Lit-
erature and Thought at Vander-
bilt University and as Director
of- the Hillel Foundation at Yale
University.
President of the Society of
Biblical Literature and Exegesis,
Dr. Sandmel is the author of a
number of important books 'in
the field of religion.
The lecture is 6pen to the pub-
lic, free of charge.

Cong. Shaarey Zedek
to Honor Consecrants

A Thanksgiving Service hon-
oring all past consecrants is
being planned by Cong. Shaarey
Zedek for Nov. 25 in connection
with the congregation's centen-
nial celebration.
Dr. Samuel Krohn, chairman
of the congregation's Centennial
Program Committee, has asked
that all past consecrants send in
their married names, present
addresses as well as maiden
names to the synagogue office,
2900 W. Chicago, in order that
invitations may be mailed out to
all.
Krohn has asked that relatives
of consecrants who may be living
out of the city forward their
names and present addresses to
the synagogue office so that they,
too, may be advised of the forth-
coming program.

court fight over mixed seating
of men and women, reported this
week that families prayed to-
gether for the first time in the
synagogue during the High Holy
Days.
The mixed seating was made
possible, Maurice Pallet said, by
the action of the Louisiana Su-
preme Court in setting aside an

Dr. Simon Greenberg, leading,
Jewish educator and vice chan-
cellor of the Jewish Theological
Seminary of America, will ex-
plore various aspects of Conserv-
ative Judaism in a series of three
presentations, as follows:
On Saturday morning, Dr.
Greenberg will occupy the pulpit
as guest speaker on "The Con-
servative Concept Of God."
On Saturday evening, at 8:30,
Dr. Greenberg will discuss the
"Conservative Approach To The
Law And Jewish Practice" at a

lander, chairman of the weekend,
