Cornerstone in Memory

of Late Chief Rabbi
is Laid for Yeshiva

TEL AVIV, (JTA) — The cor-
nerstone for a Yeshiva named
for the late Ashkenazi Chief
Rabbi of Israel. Isaac Halevi Her-
zog, was laid in Nehalim village
near Petach Tikvah.
The widow of the late Chief
Rabbi and one of his sons, Col-
onel Haim Herzog, attended the
ceremony which was addressed
by Interior Minister :Moshe Sha-
piro and Education Minister
'Abba Eban.

Joseph Oppen, Sexton
of Windsor Shute Dies

Rev. Joseph Oppen, 969
Howard, Windsor, Onf., died
Oct. 27 at the age nf- 56.
Rev. Oppen was sexton of
Windsor's Cong. Shaar Hasho-
mayim.
Surviving are his wife, Rose;
two sons, Alvin of London,
Ont., and Larry oe Oak Park;
two daughters, Mr,, Jack (Shir-
ley) Medler and Phyllis, both
of Windsor; a brother, Sol of
Detroit; two sisters, Mrs. B.
Doppelt of Windsor and Mrs.
B. -Berenzon of Toronto; and
three grandchildren.
