"Israel today is a dynamic
society in an electric ever-
c h a n g i n g state of develop-
ment." This is theme of a spe-
cial supplement on Israel
which appears in the November
issue of the Atlantic.
The editors of Atlantic gath-
ered together an eminent and
articulate group of participants
in and observers of the Israel
story. Among them are such
internationally known figures
as David Ben-Gurion, Abba
Eban, Walter C. Lowdermilk,
S. L. A. Marshall and Dr. Jacob

1E

Fine.
This issue presents a pan-
oramic view of the political,
economic, social, and cultural
development of Israel's short
and stormy 13-year history.
Many months of preparation
have gone into making this
issue on Israel one which most
truly reflects life . there. In addi-
tion to the 64 pages of new
fiction and non-fiction, there
are eight pages of new Israeli
art. The cover was created • es-
pecially for this issue by Ben
Shahn.
