Dillon Dies at 72

NEW YORK—Isidore Dillon,
a Yiddish poet active for many
years in Yiddish literary and
poetry circles and a member of
the staff of the Jewish Tele-
graphic Agency, died here Mon-
day night at the age of 72.
Born in Lithuania, Dillon, a
brother of the late well-known
Yiddish poet, Avraham Moshe
Dillon, came to this country in
1904. He edited several volumes
of YiddiSh poetry •and had a
number of his own poems pub-
lished in leading periodicals.

Kindergarten Teacher
Edna -Tobin Dies at 54

Miss Edna Tobin, a Detroit
kindergarten teacher for 33
years, her last assignment hav-
ing been at the Haw thorn
School, died Sunday at .the age
of 54. Funeral services were
held Tuesday morning at Kauf-
man Chapel. '
A native of IrOnwood, Mich.,
Miss Tobin came to Detroit in
her early youth and studied in
local schools.
Surviving her are two broth-
ers, Jack and Louis J.; four sis-
ters, Mrs. Lester H. Cannon, of
Palo Alto, Calif.; Mrs. Eric
Menter, of Port Elizabeth, So
Africa; Mrs. Rubin Coop
Norfolk, Va., and.

deceased is a graduate of the
Yale University Law School, and
has practiced law here for more
than 30 years. He was for many
years active in communal affairs
and the Zionist movement.

Apprehend Nazi Who
Killed Austrian-Jews

VIENNA, (JTA) — Police
have announced the arrest of
Richard Hochrainer, a fOrmer
high officer in the Nazi storm-
trooper unit, who is charged
with having Shot nine Jews in
an Austrian valley at the end
of World War II.
_Police said that Hochrainer
has lived under a false name
in Austria for the past 16 years.
