Cong. Bnai David's Education
Committee has announced the
expansion of the music program
in the Sunday and mid-week divi-
sions of the religious school with
Cantor Hyman Adler as director
of music. He will be assisted by
Mordechai Adler, Ruth Baumer
and Mrs. Rozelle Snow. In addi-
tion to a more concentrated pro-
gram of synagogue and Israeli
music, the program includes in-
struction in cantillations (the
melody of Torah and Haftorah
readings), a cantorial class, de-
signed to prepare youngsters to
lead services; the synagogue choir
and the development of a school
chorus. Tape recording will be
used for instruction. Rabbi Eric
Greenbaum is the school's prin-
cipal.

The Sholem Aleichem School
announces classes will resume
on Sept. 6, with children five-
years-old attending once per
week, at six and seven attend-
ing twice per week and those
older attending three times per
week. The program includes
history, Bible, Yiddish, Hebrew,
current events, music, arts,
crafts and dramatics and Bar
Mitzvah instruction, according
to Moishe Haar, school princi-
pal and director of the Sholem
Aleichem Institute. The Sho-
lem Aleichem Nursery School
will also resume sessions Sept.
6 under the direction of Mrs.
" Leo Dworkin and Mrs. • Men-
dell Korn.

ing I. Lawton as principal of its
