Schumer Tells How Israel
Solves Its ,Unemployment
Editor, The Jewish News:
From Jerusalem, where I am
attending the national leaders
conference for State of Israel
Bonds, I am happy to report a
feverish building activity, most
of it financed by funds from
State of Israel Bonds.
Israel's population has tripled
In the past 13 years. Every-
where we see evidence of ' a'
tremendous influx of people
from many lands.
On empty lots and suburban
developments, cement mixers
and giant cranes testify to the
booming development of the
country.
At the Israel Bonds national
conference, Dr. Giora Joseph-
thal, Israel's Minister of Labor,
told me that the continuing
pressure of immigration and
Israel's natural increase will
keep the building boom rolling
for several years.
The industrialization carried
on by the government with the
aid of Israel Bond and other
foreign investment capital is
paying off handsomely with a
steadily rising export trade and
job opportunities for new citi-
zens.
