Ask Life Terms for 2
Ex-Nazis Accused of
Mass Murder of Jews

MUNICH, (JTA)-Life impri-
sonment for two ex-Nazis accused
of mass murders of Jews, Rus-
sians and Poles during World
War II, and five-year prison
terms for two alleged accom-
plices, were demanded by the
state prosecutor here at the con-
clusion of a three-week trial.
The life sentences were sought
for Otto Bradfish, accused of
having been the leader of a Nazi
execution squad- that murdered
19,000 Russians and Jews; and
former SS Major W h i l h elm
Schultze, charged with executing
2,900 persons in Poland and
Russia.
The shorter prison terms were
asked by the prosecutor for Carl
Ruhrberg, charged with participa-
tion in the murder of 1,100 per-
sons; and Oskar Winkler, accused
of participating in the execution
of 900.
A fifth man accused of having
been a participant in this group,
Guether Stroh, was acquitted for
lack of evidence..

British Body Stresses
Need for Renewed War
Against • Anti-Semitism

LONDON, (JTA)-The 1960
report of the Council of Chris-
tians and Jews stressed the
need for constant vigilance and
renewed efforts to deal with
anti-Seinitism in Great Britain.
The report pointed out that the
year opened with "a series of
ugly and unpleasant outbreaks
of anti-Jewish expressions in this
country as in many others." The
report urged the strengthening
of links between Jews and Chris-
tians.

launching, Israel became the
seventh nation to join the
space race.

Jewish Legion Pays
Honor to Jabotinsky

NEW YORK, (JTA) - Vet-
erans of the Jewish Legion who
fought under Lord Allenby, in
the Palestine Campaign in World
War I, took part in the annual
pilgrimage to the grave of Vlad-
imir Jabotinsky in a ceremony
marking the 21st anniversary of
the Zionist leader's death. His
remains are in a cemetery in
suburban Long Island.
More than 1,000 persons par-
ticipated in a pilgrimage to the
grave in New Montefiore Cem-
etery at -Farmingdale, L. I.
Other participants were mem-
bers of the Jewish War Vet-
erans, and a color guard of the
Betar Revisionist Zionist organ-
ization. Wreaths were laid on
the grave by delegations from
Israel, South Africa, Canada,
Mexico, Chile, Argentina, Brazil,
Romania and Hungary, Biblical
passages and excerpts from the
writings of Jabotinsky were re-
cited at the graveside.
Rabbis in a number of syna-
gogues throughout the country
devoted portions of their ser-
mons to the life and writings of
Jabotinsky.
- Jabotinsky, f o u n d e r of the
Zionist Revisionist movement,
helped organize the Jewish
Legion, in which he served with
the rank of lieutenant. He died
while on a visit to this country
on a mission- connected with
the organization of Jewish units
to fight with the Allies against
the Nazis in World War II.
The Day-Jewish Journal, one
of the foremost Yiddish dailies
in ..the United States, isued a
call for the transfer of Mr. Ja-
botinsky's remains to Israel, for
reburial there. Morris Weinberg,
publisher of the newspaper,
cabled a special appeal to Yitz-
hak Ben-Zvi, President of Israel,
expressing his hope that the
Israeli Government "will honor
the last will" of Mr. Jabotinsky,
who had asked prior to his
death that he be buried in
Palestine.
