CINCINNATI — Dr. Albert
Sabin, discoverer of the oral
polio vaccine, endorsed last week
by the American Medical Asso-
ciation, was honored by his
fellow-Cincinnatians at a lunch-
eon at the Cincinnati Club.
A citizens committee com-
prising prominent Cincinnati
civic and industrial leaders an-
nounced at the luncheon that in
recognition of Dr. Sabin's "strik-
ing contribution to the welfare
of children and humanity the
world over, a Children's Wood-
land in Israel's Freedom Forest
would be named for him."
Now being planted in the vi-
cinity 'of Jerusalem on land
owned by the Jewish National
Fund, Freedom Forest serves as
a monument to the ties of friend-
ship linking the freedom-loving
democracies of the United States
of America and the State of
Israel. It will have two million
trees and will be divided into 50
woodlands each bearing the
name of one of the States of the
Union.
