Mrs. Kliger Writes Thesis on 'Physician Mobility,' Wins MA Celia Berlin (Mrs. David) Kliger, 18438 Hartwell, received her masters degree in health administration at Wayne State University commencement ex- ercises Thursday, the culmina- tion of her research and writ- ing on "Physician Mobility in Wayne County." Her thesis, a 191-page volume, was reviewed recently in the Detroit Medi- cal News, offi- cial publica- tion of the Wayne County Medical Socie- ty, and will be reviewed again in a forthcom i n g issue of the Journal of the Michigan State Medical Society. Cop- ies of her work will be placed on the Mrs. Kliger shelves of the College of Medi- cine library and the WSU so- cial science library. The study covers a ten-year period. Mrs. Kliger has served on the public relations board of the Jewish Family and Children's Service and is past president of the Women's Auxiliaries of the Jewish Home for Aged and Maimonides Medical Society and the League of Jewish Wom- en's Organizations. She also is national vice - president of the Federated Bureau of Jewish Women's Organizations; a mem- ber of the. Women's Guild of Sinai Hospital and Hadassah, besides other memberships in community service and profes- sional organizations. She is married to physician David Kliger, a graduate of Massachusetts College of Phar- macy, Tufts College of Medi- cine in Boston, and the Univer- sity of Michigan where he re- ceived his master of public health degree. HARRY POLACHEK, technical director of the U. S. Navy's Applied Mathematics Laboratory in Washington, will receive the Mordecai ben David Award at the 30th annual com- mencement exercises of Yesh- iva University, June 15, at the University's Danciger Campus, in New York. * * * The Economic Minister of the Israel Embassy in Washington announced that Dr. MARTIN ROSENBLUTH retired from his position as representative of the Treasury of the State of Israel for the Western Hemis- phere. Rosenbluth has served in this post since the inception of the State and will continue to serve the Ministry of Finance as a consultant. He will be suc- ceeded by SHEMTJEL SELIN- GER, head of the Ministry of Defense Supply Division in New York. * * * JACK J. ZUROFSKY, of West Orange, N.J., has been appointed director of community publicity services of the Council of Jewish Federations and Welfare Funds, it was announced by Irving Kane of Cleveland, president. WASHINGTON, (JTA) — A 14-member delegation headed by Mayor Mordechai Ish-Shalom of Jerusalem has arrived in Wash- ington to participate in the world conference of local governments. The Israeli -delegation consti- tutes the connecting link between the present conference and the 15th Congress of the International Union of Local Authorities (IULA) which was held in Israel last year. The IULA flag is being transmitted by the Israeli dele- gation from last year's host city, Tel Aviv, to Washington, D.C., the 1961 host city.
