Six Bnai Brith convention to be
held in Chicago, the week of
June 25. The first executive
meeting of Rex Lodge will be
held 9 p.m. July 6 in the audi-
torium of the Reynolds Alum•-
num Building, - James Couzens
and Eight Mile Rd. Guests are
invited to attend.

A "Games Night" will be fea-
tured for the last membership
meeting of the season for DON-
ALD FOX CHAPTER to be held
8:30 p.m. Tueesday at Beth Ye-
hudah, 17556 Wyoming. Prizes
and refreshments are planned
for the evening. Friends are
welcome.

The combined installation of
officers of the ALBERT EIN-
STEIN LODGE and • CHAPTER
was held recently at Bnai David
Synagogue, at which time Mrs,
Anzel Gun became the sixth
president of the chapter, and
Sol Rosenberg became the sixth
president of the lodge. The in-
stalling officers were Harry_
Yudkoff, member of the Nation-
al Board of Governors, and Mrs.
Charles Solovich, national pres-
ident of Bnai Brith Women. The
Chapter's new officers and mem-
bers of the board of directors

2 Local Athletes
to Represent U.S.
in Maccabiah Gaines

The United States Games Com-
mittee has announced a tentative
list of approved candidates,, in-
cluding two from Michigan, for
the American team to be sent to
the sixth Maccabiah Games to be
held in Isarel Aug. 29-Sept. 4.
The financing of each athlete's
participation in the Games is
estimated at $1,500.
Chosen from this area are De
troiter Ralph Goldstein (basket-
ball) and Thomas Segal (track
and field), of Western Uni-
versity.

Susan Elise Grosberg, daugh-
ter of Mr. and Mrs. Merwin
Kenneth Grosberg of Wilde-
mere Ave., and Douglas Arthur
Bloom, son of Dr. and Mrs.
Arthur Bloom of Gloucester
Dr., were wed June 21 in a
ceremony performed by Dr.
Richard Hertz of Temple Beth
El at the Crystal Ballroom of
the Sheraton Cadillac Hotel.
The bride wore a gown of
antique ivory Italian satin and
Alencon lace. The bodice fitted
snugly in the midriff of the
satin, topped by a petal scal-
loped modesty neckline formed
by the lace. The full-length
lace sleeves were studded with
seed pearls that glistened. The
bouffant skirt was distinguished
by the rambling of the pearl
studded lace which formed a
band topping the harem chapel
train.. A Catherine de Medici
cap, made of the 'lace and
studded with pearls and with
an unopened rose of satin at
the center point held a circular
veil of French silk illusion.
She carried a spray of phae-
lanopisis and ivy on her con-
firmation Bible.
The bride's sister, Ronna,
was maid of honor, and brides-
maids included Mrs. Dale Stone
of Chicago, Barbara Berman,
Carol , Grant, a cousin; and
Stephanie Glazer. The bride-
groom's brother, John, was best
man, and ushers were Stephen
Crane, Stanley and Stuart
Frankel, cousins of the bride;
Sidney Jackson, Philip Lewis
and Philip. Dennis Rands.
A reception and dinner-dance
followed the 'ceremony.

Nancy Cohen Wins
Graduate Fellowship
to Chicago University

A 21-year-old coed from Hunt-
ington Woods will attend the
University of Chicago this Sep-
tember on a graduate fellowship
in English and American Litera-
ture.
The award is only one of sev-
eral honors garnered by Nancy
Helen Cohen who graduated this
month from Brandeis University,
Waltham, Mass.
Miss Cohen, daughter - of Dr.
and Mrs. A. L. Cohen, 25426
Parkwood, was one of only four
Brandeis graduates to win the
coveted Louis D. Brandeis honor-
ary scholarship, given for out-
standing achievement in the
fields of psychology, science, mu-
sic and literature.
Nancy also won the Henry and
Ida Wilchinski Poetry Award,
presented for a lyric poem which
was published in the university's
literary magazine.
In graduating magna cum laude,
Nancy also was a member of the
National Honor Society,. and will
be elected to Phi Beta Kappa in
the fall when Brandeis is offi-
cially recognized by this scholas-
tic organization.
Nancy, who plans to teach En-
glish and literature in college,
will work toward her master's
degree in English and American
Literature in Chicago and will
continue for her doctorate.
She is a graduate of Berkley
High School and also of the Tem-
ple Israel High School.

United Hias Service for nearly
30 years • of leadership in
refugee_ resettlement work at
a testimonial dinner in the
Hotel Pierre here.,
The 300 guests announced
$750,000 in contributions to the
United Jewish Appeal.
