PARIS, (JTA) — Rabbi Shirnon ben Eleazar Treblink, head of the Moscow Yeshiva, the only J e w i s h theological seminary in the Soviet Union, died at Moscow, according to a report that reached here. A native of White, Russia, Rabbi Treblink headed the yeshiva which numbers between 15 and 20 students. The post took only part of his time and did not pay him sufficiently for his .living needs, forcing him to hold a job as an artisan to eke out a living. According to the Moscow dis- patch, hundreds of Jews attended Rabbi Treblink's fu- neral, and the scholar was eulogized during the services by Moscow's Chief Rabbi J. L. Lewin. In Memoriam MUNICH, (JTA) — The Ba- varian Ministry of the Interior announced here it is protesting to the village council of the re- sort town of Tutzking, 15 miles from this city, because the vil- lage has decided to name a new road after the late Field Mar- shall Eric von Ludendorff. Some residents of Tutzking are also objecting to the plan to honor the memory of Luden- dorff, who was known as an anti-Semite. "With the Adolph Eichmann trial still going on," a spokesman for the Ministry said, "this is a most unfortunate time to pick von Ludendorff's name for the road. His name is c l o s e l y linked with anti- Semitism, and is an insult to the enemies of Nazism." Von Ludendorff's widow still lives at Tutzking, and lectures on the racist theories which she helped her husband develop. Her son-in-law, Franz Freiherr von Bebeburg, was jailed for six months last year for pub- lishing an anti-Semitic article. OBITUARIES MOSE BARNETT,. died in Las Vegas May 11.
