Harry Weinbergs Return to Detroit Harry and Jennie Weinberg, who have been away from De- troit for the last seven years, have returned here. The past six years they have been liv- ing in. Flint, where they op- erated a mo- tel. On A'pril 1, they so 1 d their business and have set- Weinberg tled down in Oak Park. Harry Weinberg can be re- garded- as one of the pioneers of the organized Jewish commun- ity of the city. He first settled here in 1914, and since then has been active in many Jewish organizations. For 25 years he was the own- er and director of the Weinberg Jewish Radio Hour. Through these programs, he helped all the organizations in this area during their campaigns. For many years he was vice- president of the Federation of Polish Jews, and also worked with _ the Ukrainian Farband, .Pisgah Lodge of Bnai Brith, Russian-Polish Farband, Malawa Farband, Odessa Society and the Warsaw Club. The Weinbergs were among the organizers of the Sholem Aleichem Institute. Oak Park Stamp Exhibit Honors Israel Independence _ The third annual stamp ex hibition and bourse of the Oak Park stamp Club will be held from noon until 10 p.m. Satur day at the Oak Park Community Center. The Dr. Edward A. Stein Memorial Award will be given to the best exhibit in the show in both the junior. and senior divisions, with the former show- ing entries of youths who have not reached their 16th birthday. A special feature of the show will, be a Penny Bourse, with philatelic Inaterial donated by the club members. All proceeds from the sale of these items will be given to a charitable philatelic enterprise. The show will honor the 13th Anniversary of the Independ- ence of Israel. A cachet com- memorating this and the show is available at the door or through the mail from Stan Baar, 21971 Church, Oak Park.
