Monday, May 25, Mumford
students will find out what it
feels like to hold the reins to
the school as they take over
the administration on "Students
Day."
Governing the halls will be
Student Council President Jane
Carnick• She will be assisted by
vice president David Ehrenfeld,
recording secretary Steve Lef-
kowitz and corresponding secre-
tary David Levitt. They will take
the places of vice-principals
Garner Bowlby, Grace McPher-
son and attendance officer
George Cairns, respectively.
The duties of the various
counselors will be shouldered by
several committee chairmen of
the Council, while teachers will
be elected in every' Classroom.
To highlight the day's ac-
tivities, a musical skit and a
doughnut sale are also being
planned.
Mumford students continue
to ,reap scholastic a w a r d s.
Thirty-two will go to various
students who have achieved
Junior Phi Beta Kappa honors
by maintaining 2.6 averages
since the tenth grade, with
three points constituting an A.
Recipients are Sharon Agree,
Judith Avrin, Jerrold Eichner,
Naomi Elkin, Sheila Fishman,
Nancy Freedman, Laurence
Gaynor, Jerome Golden, Suz-
anne Goldsmith, Stephen Grand,
Roger Grekin, Ann Jacobowitz,
Alyssa Kahn, Sue Kobel, Roch-
elle Komer, John Mellen, Eliza-
beth Meyer, Norman Miller,
Philip Parker, Laurence Perl-
man, Stephen Robinson, Naida
Schiff, Alan Schwartz, Vivian
Shevitz, Irene Sands, Judith
Sliver, Dale Simon, Ira Snider,
Judith Stamell, Michael Stul-
berg, Sheldon Watnick and
Linda Zitomer.
Mumford's track team is pick-
ing up where it left off last
year, storming to three straight
victories, while the tennis team.
won two matches last week to
extend its victory string to 29
straight. The golf team was
also victorious in its only
match.
Tickets are now available for
the Drama Club's play, "Dino,"
with Kerry Ozer in the title
role. It will be presented next
Thursday -and Friday.

Association of Hospital
Auxiliaries Schedules
Meeting on Tuesday

The Sinai Hospital Women's
Guild will participate in the
annual meeting of the South-
eastern District of Michigan As-
sociation of Hospital Auxiliaries
to be held noon Tuesday at the
Wayne County Medical Society
offices, 1010 Antietam.
Mrs. George Vossler, Associa-
tion president, will preside.
Luncheon will be served, fol-
lowed by the election of of-
ficers.
Mrs. Marguerite Murray, ex-
ecutive director of the Detroit
and Tri - County - League for
Nursing, will speak on "Nursing
Needs and R e s o - u r . ces for
Wayne, Oakland and Macomb
Counties."

Where the Girls Are _

Married names have made it
difficult to locate the co-eds of
the 1936-37 classes for the High-
land Park Alumni Dinner Dance,
it was reported by committee
members Ed Simon, LI 5-8255,
and Walter Grossfield, TO 8-4998.
Members of these classes are
asked to call the above numbers.

Present 3-Act

Musical Fantasy

"That's the Spirit", an orig-
inal three-act musical fantasy
produced by the Greater Detroit
AZA and BBG Councils of the
Bnai Brith Youth Organization,
will be presented 8:30 p.m. May
27 and 8 p.m. May 28 in the
Mumford High School auditor-
ium. Reserved seats are avail-
able for both nights.
Over 200 AZA and BBG mem-
bers in Detroit are working on
the play, including actors, sing-
ers, dancers, stage crew and
other committees.
General chairmen of the play
are Jane Feinberg (Chavayros
BBG) and Dave Firestone (Sol-
omon AZA). Members of the
steering committee include
stage crew chairmen Ed Dorf-
man (Einstein AZA) and Jerry
Eichner (Brandeis AZA); pub
licity chairmen Merle Westo
(Glazer BBG) and Chuck Nid
(Sy-Teens AZA) ; ticket chair
men Elizabeth Guzick (Deborah
BBG) and Dennis Fogel (Solo-
mon AZA); costume chairmen
Judy _Klein (Israel-ettes BBG)
and Karen Applebaum (Israe
ettes BBG) ; and makeup chai
man Lane Emmer (Sabra BBG

Teens AZA, is director. Mr
Loretta Jacobs is serving a
musical director and Harold
Haber is technical director.
The general supervision of the
total play is being handled by
Earl Yaillen, regional director
of the Bnai Brith Youth Or-
ganization, and Diane Shapiro,
assistant regional director. The
general clerical organization is
being handled by Diane Fisher,
regional secretary.
