Honor Dora Ehrlich for Service
to Hadassah at Detroit Chapter Fete

Detroit Chapter of Hadassah
will hold its annilal election of
officers and induction at the
Sheraton-Cadillac Hotel May 9.
A subscription luncheon at noon
will precede the election..
Reservations for the luncheon
will be taken at the Hadassah
office, BR 3-5441, until May 7.
Mrs. Jack W. Perlman, vice-
president of program, advises
that the meeting will be dedi-
cated to Mrs. Joseph (Dora)
Ehrlich, in honor of her 80th
birthday.
On May 11; 1954, Detroit
Chapter honored Mrs. Ehrlich
for 50 years of distinguished
service and leadership to Hadas-
sah, the community and to the
Jewish people. Through unso-
licited contributions in her
honor, the Dora Ehrlich Operat-
ing Theater was established as
part of Detroit Chapter's Or-
thopedic Surgical Wing in the
new Medical Center in Jeru-
salem.
Since 1950, she has been hon-
orary chairman with Mrs. Wil-
liam B. Isenberg, chairman, of
the New Medical Center Com-
mittee.
Mrs. Isenberg, in commenting
about the dedication of the
meeting to Dora Ehrlich, stated:
"In Israel, Hadassah is pre-
paring to move into some of
the departments of the New
Medical Center on June 6. We,
the Detroit Chapter, have the
obligation of completely equip-
ping our adopted area, the Or-
thopedic Surgical Wing, which
includes the Dora Ehrlich Op-
erating Theater.
"It occurred to the Detroit
Chapter that many friends of
Dora Ehrlich may wish to ex-
press their regard for her
through a contribution toward
equipping this area. Various
types of tables, anesthetists
tables, instrument tables, ex-
amining lights, surgical dress-
ing carts, examining chairs,
sterilizers, post-operative beds,
instrument cabinets, resuscita-
tors, minor operating room

lights, oxygen tents, orthopedic
operating tables, orthopedic in-
strument sets and many other
items will be required."
For further information on
needs at the orthopedic wing,
interested persons are asked to
call Mrs. Isenberg, SU 8-6169,
or the Hadassah office, BR
3-5441.
Mrs. Harry L. Jackson, chair-
man of the day, and Mrs. Julian
Tobias have written an original
script for the luncheon.
Mrs. I. Jerome Hauser, presi-
dent, invite's all members and
friends to attend,
