Synchronized Swim Meet, Suzari
Ellias to Wed
Marionette Show on Center Agenda Herschel Blitz

The Jewish Community Cen-
ter, in cooperation with
Fitzgerald High School is spon-
soring the Junior National
Amateur Athletic Union sy-
chronized swimming team
championship meet Sunday at
the Center Pool, 18100 Meyers.
Preliminaries will start at
noon and finals at 3:30 p.m.
Tickets will be available at the
entrance to the pool, spectators'
section.
The costumed team will per-
fOrm routines before a panel
of five national judges. Medals
will be awarded the winners.
For information about enter-
ing the meet call the Center's
aquatic department.

`.`The Tinder. Box of Flan-
ders," latest production of
the Suzari . Marionettes of
New York, will 'be presented
by the Jewish Center Chil-
dreii's Omnibus Series, 1:30
and 3 p.m., Sunday in the
Aaron DeRoy Theater.

The Center will participate
in the Midwest National Jewish
Welfare Board's Golden Age
Conference to be _held in Cleve-
land April 23-24.
Fifty members of the Older
Adult program will travel via
chartered bus to participate in
the Cleveland Conference that
will host retired people from
Canton, Toledo, Akron, Youngs-
town, Pittsburgh, Cleveland and
Detroit. The_ local contingent
will include members of the
nine Older . Adult clubs cur-
rently meeting at the Center.
A host of workshops are the
heart of the conference. Old-
sters will discuss. areas of
specific concern to them:.. medi-.
cal care, maintenance of in-
come, use of leisure time, so-
cial action and housing.
The Detroit senior citizens
will present workshops on
"New Dimensions in Jewish
Areas of Programming" . and
"The Older Adult as a Volun-
teer."
•The Golden Age Choral
group, under the direction
of Cantor Nicholas Fenakel,
will present a cantata at one
of the social programs.

DeRoy Theater. Dr. Otto Fein-
stein, assistant professor • of
science of society, Monteith Col-

will discuss "Is an East - West
Nuclear Monopoly Necessary for
Peade?"
This timely film with Brian
Donlevy, Robert Walker and
Hume Cronyn deals with the
atomic bomb from fission to
Hiroshima.
Feinstein spent three years
doing graduate work at the
Graduate Institute of Inter-
national Studies in Geneva,
Switzerland. He worked fo
the U.S. Foreign Relati
Committee and has recent
contributed to the Bulletin
of Atomic Scientists.

from Detroit 'Northern
School will hold a 20th
nion Party on May 2'7 at
Bonnie Brook Country Club,

For the past three months,
committee members have been
tracing down the 380 graduates
According to publicity chair-
man Isadore A. Rosen, 29690
Shacket, Madison Heights, over
220 have been located.
Graduates will be able to re
new old acquaintances at the
semi-formal dance. Prizes will
be awarded to the couple mar-
ried the. longest and to the
couple married most recently.
The committee is still looking
for 160 former Eskimos who
have scattered all over the state
and the country, Rosen said.

Yermans Appointed Pine Crest Directors

Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Yerman
of Radclift Ave., Oak Park have
been named directors of Pine
Crest Ranch, Brighton, it was
announced by George Weiswas-
ser, owner of the camp for boys
and girls.
, Yerman holds a master's de-
gree in educational psychology
and is a counselor at Centerline
High School. He was for sev-
eral years active in camping
work at the Jewish Center and
supervised the overnight camp-
ing at Tamarack. He is on the

medical technologist and was
formerly on the staff at Sinai
Hospital. She will assist in the
supervision of the kitchen at
Pine Crest.
Pine Crest Ranch was estab-
lished six years ago as an all-
round camp for boys and girls,

horseback riding, riflery, golf
and real outdoor camping._
