The marriage of Barbara Jane
Keywell and Donald Joel Pur-
ther was solemnized at a cere-
mony and dinner for the imme-
diate families April 15 at the
,
Sheraton Cadillac Hotel.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Barney Keywell
of Shrewsbury Rd. Mr. Purther
is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Doug-
las Purther of Roselawn Ave.
Morris Adler officiated
and the bride was attended by
her sisters, Mrs. Joel Tauber.
and Mrs. Richard Owen. Frank :
lin Purther was. the bride-
groom's best man.
The bride wore a gown of
white peau de soie appliqued
in hand corded Alencon lace.
Her fingertip veil fell from , a
lace cap and she carried a
Bible with stephanotis and
orchids.
After a Caribbean honey-
moon, the couple will reside in
Detroit.

Joining the ranks of Mum-
ford's numerous clubs is the
newly-formed Coin Club. The
group consists of beginning col-
lectors as well as students with
well-established, elaborate col-
lections. The members trade
and sell coins among them-
selves, as well as discuss coins
at their meetings. President
and organizer of the club is
Stephen Richardson. Howard
White is secretary.
Mumford's gym was trans-
formed Dogpatch-style last Fri-
day night as senior Daisy Maes
hosted their Li'l Abners to an
evening of square dancing.
Blackened teeth, pigtails, and
straw hats were common sights
among the gals who learned to
open doors and hold coats for
their dates. The dance was
planned by social committee
co-chairmen Larry Baskin and
George Economy.
The Senior Variety, Show will
be staged 8 a.m. Monday and
Tuesday, in the school audi-
torium. All-senior acts will be
featured in: a unique theme.
Chairmen of this event are
Elly Rose and Jim Grossman.
Nearly 300 seniors will leave
for Washington, D.C. April 26
on the senior trip. The group
will tour the city_ and nearby
historical sites for four d

Schiff. Mumford is one of the
few Detroit high schools boast-
ing a literary magazine. The
Muse is published once each
semester.
Bob Aptekar will spend his
summer vacation living with a
family in Holland under the
auspices of the Michigan Coun-
cil of Churches. Although Bob
doesn't know to which city he
is headed, he expects to
