Vaad Hayeshivot Plans Don Frohman Choral
Streamlining of Present Concert to Be Held
Fund-Raising Program

Plans for strengthening and
improving the existing program
of supervising activities of
meshulochim are announced by
Jay Rosenthal, chairman of the
Vaad. Hayeshivot.
A meeting of the Vaad Haye-
shivot 8:30 p.m. May 2 at the
Jewish Community Center will
focus on the new program.
The consensus of the steering
committee, Rosenthal said, is
that the Vaad Hayeshivot has
an important role to fill in the
accreditation of institutions, and
the scheduling and certification
of their authorized representa-
tives in the Detroit community.
The proposed changes in Vaad
Hayeshivot regulations will
benefit both the community and
institutions seeking funds, he
added.
The steering committee plans
are aimed at enhancing the dig-
nity of fund-raising for tradi-
tional causes in Detroit that
will involve the cooperative ef-
forts of businessmen, congrega-
tions and the general public.
Rosenthal urged all indivi-
duals and organizations to co-
operate with existing regula-
tions requiring -that solicitors
carry credentials issued by the
Vaad Hayeshivot and give re-
ceipts bearing the Vaad's stamp.
