tor of the Bancroft convalescent
home at 4262 W. Fort St.
Upon his assumption of his
Detroit poSt, Marion announced
a program of activities that will
include the following:
A completely equipped physi-
cal therapy department under
the supervision of a registered
physical therapist.
A recreation program.
A graduate dietitian.
A staff podiatrist.
A fully equipped barber shop.
A fully equipped beauty shop.
New sound movie equipment
for showing films.
T.V. in every day room and
lounge.
A staff of nurses round the
clock.
An internist as staff physi-
cian to care for welfare pa-
tients.
A gift shop.
The Bancroft, which has a
staff dedicated to the geriatric
and convalescent field, has been
approved for listing by the
American Hospital. Association.
Marion, who has had a long
career of service in the hos-
pital field, now resides with his
wife and two children at 10441
Dartmouth, Oak Park.

BENJAMIN D. BURDICK has
been named to serve on a newly
created joint committee on uni-
fied planning for Wayne State
University and the University
of Michigan.

Annual Conference
of Religious School
Teachers Planned

The Directors Council of the
Religious Schools of Metropoli-
tan Detroit has set the evening
of April 16 for its annual
Teachers Conference, advises
Bernard Panush, Council chair-
man.
The Conference will be held
in the new quarters of the
Bnai Moshe Synagogue. Over
200 religious school teachers
and their wives are expected
to attend.
Panush also announces the
appointment of Walter Farber,
director of the Bnai Moshe re-
ligious school, as chairman of
the Seminar committee. He
will be assisted by a committee
of teachers consisting of Mayme
Abramson, Bnai Moshe; Liela
Borofsky and Ruth Pesselnick,
Adas Shalom; Iry Ritter and
Dave Levy, Beth Aaron; Ann-
ette Bechek, and Lou Chess,
Temple Emanuel; Harvey Rice,
Temple Israel; Geraldine Lev-
itt, Shaarey Zedek; Stanley
Levin, Temple Beth El; Pearl
Burns and S. Symkoff, Ahavas
Achim.
Theme of the .seminar will
center around the Bar Mitzvah
year of Israel. Featured speaker
will be Rabbi Hayim Donin,
who will give a resume of "The
Israel School System." The
Ifabonim dance group will star
in Israeli dances and there will
be community singing of the
latest Israeli hit tunes, greet-
ings by Rabbi Moses Lehrman
on behalf of Bnai Moshe' and
a social hour with refresh-
ments.
The Directors Council is com-
posed of the directors of the
12 religious schools of Metro-
politan Detroit with a registra-
tion of over 7000 students.

Mr, and Mrs. Philip Saslove of
Hubbell Ave. announce the en-
gagement of their daughter, Mar-
sha Esther, to Jack Frank, son
of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Frank of
Los Angeles, Calif. A May 25
wedding is planned.
