The chartered craft, bound for Amsterdam, was carrying 81 pas sengers en route to Israel on a Mizrachi-sponsored tour for Pass- over. It was in flight about an hour when Ehrenfeld was stricken. He was given emergency treatment aboard the plane. The pilot jettisoned 5,000- gal- lons of fuel to make the aircraft lighter for a faster run to Idle- wild. Ehrenfeld was rushed to Manhattan General Hospital where his condition was listed as critical. The plane took off again shortly after its mercy stop. Other Detroiters were aboard, including Sam Stollman. Ehrenfeld is the brother of the Matastofer Rebbe who has settled in Israel with his fol- lowers and is pursuing a long- range program of study and is sponsoring a school and homes construction project.
