Appointment of Gubow Okayed; Assumes Post • The United States Senate on March 16 confirmed the appoint- ment of Lawrence Gubow, De- troit Jewish War Veterans leader and an active figure in the Jewish Community Council and other local movements, as U. S. Attorney for Eastern Michigan. Gubow's appointment was sent to the Senate by President Kennedy soon after his inaugu- ration in January. ' Gubow was sworn in Thursday by Chief Judge Theodore Levin of the Federal District Court. A large number of Gubow's friends attended a reception in his honor, in • Room 859 of the Federal Building, after the in- duction ceremony.
