President of Federation The board of governors of the Jewish Welfare Federation has re-elected its entire slate of officers for a one-year term. Max M. Fisher will begin his third term as president of the Federa- tion. Fisher, 53, is chairman of the board of Aurora Gaso- line Company and is the newly appoint- ed chairman of the Torch M. M. Fisher Drive. Elected ,vice presidents of the Federation are Mrs. Joseph H. Ehrlich, Hyman Safran and Louis Tabashnik. George M. Stutz was elected treasurer and Isidore Sobeloff, executive vice president of the Federation, was elected secretary. He is a director of the Metro- politan Detroit Building Fund, vice president of Sinai Hospital and the Greater Detroit Hos- pital Council, a national chair- man of the United Jewish Appeal, a member of the board of governors of Hebrew Union College and an executive com- mittee member of the American Agency for Israel, Inc. As a leader in the petro- leum industry, Fisher is a director of, the American Petroleum Council and the 25- year club of the petroleum industry. He is a member of Temple Beth El and Congregation Shaarey Zedek. Fisher has been a member of the UF board of directors and executive committee since 1957 and a UF vice president since 1959. He has served as team captain on the advance gifts committee and co-chairman of the general manufacturing unit. He is the first member of the Jewish community to head the giant charity campaign and only the second non-automobile ex- ecutive in the Torch Drive's 13- year history.
