A new automatic fire alarm
system that calls the fire depart-
ment even if the homeowner is
asleep or away on vacation, is
being introduced in Livonia by
Parliament Homes of Detroit.
"Most fire alarms depend on
the homeowner or hearing the
alarm and then calling the fire
department," states Parliament
Homes President Phil Alper,
"but suppose the homeowner
and his family have been over-
come by smoke or are away for
the week-end and you can't hear
the alram. With the new Zon-
alarm we've installed in our
model home on West Seven
Mile Rd. in Livonia, not only
does a warning alarm sound in-
side the home but outside as
well so neighbors can call the
fire department."
"Fire warning isn't the only
function of this system," Alper
emphasized, "push buttons lo-
cated at the front and side door
sound an alarm to ward off in-
truders. A baby sitter or a
woman alone in the house,
merely presses the button and
the horn sounding on the out-
side of the -house drives the
intruder away and summons the
attention of the neighbors."
Releasing the push button sil-
ences the system.
This added intruder feature
does not interfere with the op-
eration of the house fire alarm
system.
