Irwin Cohn Plays
Leading Role for
Miami Bond Parley
MIAMI — Irwin Cohn, De-
troit communal leader, has --been
playing a leading role in prepara-
tions for the 1961 Inaugural Con-
ference for Israel Bonds, which
is meeting this week-end at the
Fontainebleau Hotel here.
Cohn is one of group of
Jewish leaders from communities
throughout the United States and
Canada who are taking the lead
in preliminary work for the con-
ference, which is bringing to-
gether 2,000 delegates from ap-
proximately 100 communities to
usher in the observance of Israel's
Bar Mitzvah anniversary.
The weekend conference will
mark the launching of the 1961
Israel Bond drive, which seeks
a total of $80,000,000 in honor
of Israel's Bar Mitzvah. Guests
of honor at the conference will
be Abba Eban, Israel's Minister
of Education and former ambas-
sador to the United States, and
Mrs. Eban.
