The Food in Israel

Bob Steiner, of the Sheraton chain,
arrived in Tel Aviv to train an Israeli
chef in the .Sheraton manner.
If given permision, we may import
steaks from the United States -1' Stei-
ner told me. -
Israeli cattle, I am told, is not fed
on wheat and grain, but on citrus fruit
and peals, and is killed too young.
This gives it a different taste.
But the food in Israel- is palatable,
wholesome and comparable to the best
anywhere. Salads and sandwiches are
available in hotels and good restau-
rants, of which there are many.
When the new Israel Sheraton opens
formally on March 15, there will. be
dignitaries from all over the world,
and Israeli investment organizations
will be able to point to a successful
operation through private enterprise.
