Many Detroiters to Attend Israel Bond Conference; Col. Gershon at Local. Leadership Dinner on Feb. 22 A large delegation of Detroiters will play an active role in the national 1961 inaugural confer- ence of the State of Israel Bond Organization in Miami _ Beach, March 3-5. The conference will celebrate the Bar-Mitzvah year of the State of Israel and the 10th anniversary of Israel Bonds. She is a former commander of Chen, the Women's Army of Israel, and was decorated for bravery dur- ing the Sinai Campaign. She served in the Haganah and during World War II served in the Jewish Brigade of. the British army and saw service in Egypt and Italy. She was ap- pointed commander of Chen in 1951 and served for eight years.
