JNF Ladies Auxiliary Donor Tea to Help Build Freedom Forest The Freedom Forest near Jerusalem will be given a boost by the annual donor tea of the Ladies' Auxiliary of the Jewish National Fund 12:30 p.m. Tues- day at Temple Israel. Proceeds from the annual donor event will be used toward Center Teen Varsity Cagers Slip for 1st Time The Jewish Community Center Teen Varsity suffered its first defeat of the season at the hands of Ferndale, while the Junior- Varsity won its fifth straight game over a Ferndale Junior squad. The Teens lost, 55-49; they trailed 29-24 at the half, and matched Ferndale point for point in the second half, but couldn't quite catch up. Jerry Golden led the Center attack with 15. The Teens are now 13-1 for the sea- son. In an opening game, the Jun- iors trounced Ferndale, 51-11. They led 13-2 at the quarter and 26-2 at the half. David Wolok had 9 for the Center. The Juniors are now 5-3 overall; they are in third place in the Detroit Pistons knothole league with a 2-1 record, one-half game out of second place. The Teens will visit Philadel- phia Boys Club Thursday. The Juniors are idle this week. Fitzgerald, president of the board of directors of the Center, ex- pressed appreciation to Henry M. Butzel, retired State Supreme Court Justice, who in memory of his late wife, gave $5,000 for the development of the clinical and research laboratory.
