Alliance will
crate the factory,
cal know-how and training pro-
vided by American Latex.
A five-year contract between
American Latex, which is a sub-
sidiary of Dayco Corporation
of Dayton, Ohio, and Alliance
Tire and Rubber Company, was
signed by Dayco International
Vice-President Richard D. Ro-
senberg and Alliance Board
Chairman Arthur Taubman.
Terms of the agreement call
for the training of Israeli chem-
ical specialists and supervision
of pilot plant operations by
Dayco's American Latex Prod-
ucts subsidiary, in exchange for
five per cent of net sales of the
new plant, which is expected
to have an initial output of
$250,000.
The new operation, a pilot
enterprise for Israel in the field
of modern plastic materials, is
named Caesarea Polymer Cor-
poration, Ltd., deriving its title
from the plant site in Caesarea,
an ancient Mediterranean har-
bor town where the Romans
once based their Palestinian
capital, and Emperor Titus
trained his gladiators.
At the outset Caesarea Poly-
mer, a wholly owned subsidiary
of Alliance Tire and Rubber
Company, Ltd., will manufac-
ture foam products and print-
ing rollers for the Israeli do-
mestic market. Land is pres-
ently being levelled for the
new factory, and it is expected
that construction of buildings
will be completed in the spring
of 1961. Machinery from the
United States will be installed
at that time.
