Plymouth Engineer
Prove 'Alternator '
Eliminates Stalling

Important advantages of
outh's new alternator for avoidi
embarrassing and costly "stalls"
in slow-moving, heavy winter traf-
fic and for keeping the battery
strong, even under heavy elec-
trical loads, were demonstrated to
the press this week by Plymo
engineers.

In one of a series of dramatic
demonstrations of the alternator's
capabilities, newsmen in Detroit
witnessed the departure of two
ars, a 1961 Plymouth and a 1961
aliant — without batteries — for
Chicago.
Chicago newsmen were on
hand to greet the cars when they
arrived in the Windy City five-
and-a-half hours after leaving De-
troit.
- In making the 328-mile trip,
the cars came to a complete stop
24 times each, yet the engines
never stopped running.
"The Detroit to Chicago trip
demonstrates that under practical
driving conditions the alternators,
without the aid of a battery, pro-
duces enough power, parti
