RABBI MORRIS ADLER

Israel Stolarsky, a lea ding
figure of the Labor Zionist
Movement and associate na-
tional executive director of the
Israel Histadrut Campaign, will
be a guest in Detroit this week-
end under the auspices of -the
local Histadrut Committee Or-
ganizations Division.
Stolarsky comes to Detroit di-
rectly from Israel and will re-
port to the leadership of this
important division, which is
made up of some 60 societies,
clubs, family groups, etc., on
the general situation in Israel
and the status of the specific
projects undertaken and exe-
cuted by a number of these
groups.
This leadership gathering
will be in the form of a break-
fast meeting 10:30 a.m. Sun-
day at the Hayim Greenberg
Center.
Stolarsky will also render a
special report on a project of
international significance un-
dertaken by Jewish communi-
ties around the world—the cre-
ation of an international shrine
dedicated to the memory of the
six million Jews who perished
during the Hitler era.
This shrine, a museum which
will forever house the memor-
abilia of this dark period in
Jewish history, was initiated by
the citizens of Kibbutz Loch-
amei Hagettaot, the band of

fighters who took a heroic
stand against the Nazis in the
ghetto of Warsaw. Although
started by this group of people,
it was felt that because of its
great significance to Jews of all
lands, their participation should
be invited.
It is Stolarsky's intention to
lay before the Organizations
Division the plan which will
permit their participation.
Yaacov Morris, consul of Is-
rael and director of the Re-
search Department of the Is-
rael Office of Information, last
week was the guest speaker at
a meeting of the volunteer
worker force.
It is expected that a sub-
stantial part of the 1961 drive
will have been completed by
the official opening of the cam-
paign, announced for Jan. 17.
